PARA-SWIMRUN 5K

Course description – EX Para-Swimrun 5K

EX Para-Swimrun 5K offers an adapted 5 km course around the northern end of Edsviken, featuring approximately 500 m of swimming and 4,500 m of land-based movement. All transitions are carefully selected to suit Para-Swimrun, with a strong focus on accessibility.

Land sections take place mainly on gravel paths and grass, with transitions to swimming via piers, beaches, and other suitable entry and exit points. The team of three works together, where the support person’s role is to assist during transitions and then transport the wheelchair or other equipment to the next transition point. It is not necessary to swim with the wheelchair, as shown in the image, although it is of course allowed if desired.

Swimming sections are conducted close to shore, making it easy for the support person to rejoin the team if they are not swimming. Some transitions will be slightly more challenging, but by working together as a team, they will be both safe and manageable for all participants.
