Competition Course
The course is marked with ribbons and enduro arrows on land, and with buoys/flags in the water.
Participants must follow the marked course and are not allowed to deviate from it.
Teams that intentionally do not follow the marked course may be disqualified.
There will be several refreshment stations along the course with items such as water, sports drinks, bananas, energy, etc.
The competition management reserves the right to change the course, and it may be changed up until the start.
Mandatory Equipment
All participants must wear a race bib or similar and a cap, both provided in the race kit.
Participants must also wear neoprene gear suitable for swimming in cold water (short or long wetsuit).
Other equipment such as pull buoys, paddles, snorkels, etc., is optional, in accordance with ÖtillÖ rules.
All participants must carry their equipment from start to finish, and nothing may be left on the course except for damaged equipment, which can be left at the refreshment stations.
Trash can be disposed of at the refreshment stations in the designated areas.
The race bib must be clearly visible from the front for solo runners and on both participants in a team.
Participants' Responsibility
Each participant is required to be familiar with and follow the competition rules. By paying the registration fee, participants accept the competition rules.
Participants enter the race at their own risk. The competition management recommends that participants check their insurance coverage for accidents or similar incidents before the race.
All participants must show consideration for other participants, the competition management, spectators, and residents along the course.
Each participant is required to assist another participant who has been injured, fallen ill, or requires any emergency help or assistance.
During the race, there is limited emergency care or medical assistance along the course. Medical staff and CPR-trained personnel will be available at the start and finish areas.
If a participant becomes seriously ill during the race, they are urged to call 112 for emergency assistance and notify the nearest official.
Teams that withdraw from the race must inform the nearest official as soon as possible and return to the start/finish area on their own.
If one team member withdraws, the other may continue the race as a solo participant after ensuring, together with an official, that the first participant is well taken care of.
Jury, Protests, and Penalties
The jury consists of at least two and up to four people from the competition management.
The jury interprets and decides according to the competition rules, handles protests, decides on disqualifications, and has decision-making authority regarding course and rule changes.
The jury is authorized to make decisions if two members have participated in the decision-making process.
The jury may decide on any situation that arises and is not covered by these rules using good judgment and common sense.
The jury’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
A protest must be submitted in writing to the jury within 1 hour after the finish.
A protest must include (i) time and place, (ii) team numbers of the teams involved, (iii) the reason for the protest, and (iv) details of any witnesses.
A protest that does not meet the conditions above will be dismissed.
6. Binding Registration and Team Changes
Registration for the race is binding.
In case of illness or injury, no part of the registration fee will be refunded, nor can it be transferred to the next race.
The competition management recommends that teams obtain insurance in case illness or injury prevents participation. We recommend Folksam's "Startklar," which is a good option.
Team changes can be made for 295 SEK up until race day by contacting Challengize at info@challengize.com. Changes can be made on site, time permitting, up until the race start without an extra fee.
Media
The competition management and organizer have the right to photograph and film participants throughout the race day.
Participants grant the competition organization the right to use images and film material taken during the race for unrestricted use in marketing, press materials, internet, TV, and film.
Prizes
EX Swimrun is about the experience, and prizes will not be a focus for the competition management.
Of course, podium places 1-3 in all categories will receive a trophy and symbolic prizes.
Have Fun Clause
It is the responsibility of each participant to try to have as much fun as possible during the race and create a positive atmosphere for fellow runners. The focus is on the experience, not the time or placements!
